Heirloom challenge
When I heard the challenge word "heirloom", I immediately thought of tomatoes...maybe because I am totally consumed in my garden right now. Even though I had two months to do this challenge, I ended up making it from 9-midnight last night, July 31st. Nothing like waiting until the last minute, being tired, having machine problems, etc..... uggg. Anyway, this piece is now hanging in my laundry room and will remind me of juicy flavorful tomatoes all year long.
Baby Quilt for Francis
I made this quilt for Kurt's (nurse coworker) new baby girl. The back is a super soft minky fabric. The design is supposed to look like gingham. It was quick and fun to make.

Geometric-Theme 5
I made this 12 x 12" quilt for the Art Squared group. I started with a 9 patch and cut, then sewed, cut, then sew, etc. It was fun to see the pattern that emerged. The quilting went fast and then sewing on all the neat flat beads was fun.

Nina's quilt
I worked with Rebecca in Cardiology in Bozeman. She just had her first baby and didn't know the sex so I tried to make a generic baby quilt. It came out kind of girlish so I'm glad she had a girl! I love the flannel back.
Caleb's Quilt
Amber Waves of Grain
This is the 4th theme for the Art Squared group. The Theme was NATURAL. All I could come up with is wheat. I guess because of the color?
I used a spsecial stitch on my Pfaff to create the wheat shafts. The quilt was a little boring so I added some insects.
I used little pearlized beads to make the grain on some of the shafts. The beads were too white so I colored them with a Sharpie.

Gina and Adam's Christmas quilt
Shaye and Ben's wedding quilt
Shaye and Ben got married in July 2013. It was a BEAUTIFUL wedding. Shaye chose a cheveron pattern in these colors. It was fun and easy to make. I started it at a GAW in MA.
The back is flannel. Sadie always tries to get in every quilt picture I take. :)
This is the 3rd challenge for my Art Squared group. The theme was "Illuminate". I immediately though of fireflies. My friendly chipmunks, Chip and Munk ( I know... not very original) are playing a game of poker under the illumination of the fireflies. Chip and Munk caught them earlier in the evening to light up their humble abode.
I made the jar out of vinyl and lots of Angelina heat bond fiber illuminates their card game.
This is Chip and he is made out of thread........lots ........and lots of thread. Looks like he will win the hand with his pair of aces.
